A Word of Welcome from the Vice-Chancellor
It is with great pleasure to welcome you to the Tonga National University. This year marks an important milestone for your university as it was registered by the Tonga National Qualification and Accreditation Board (TNQAB) as a Post-Compulsory Education and Training Provider for Tonga.
TNU is comprised of 4 Faculties and 12 schools, delivering 55 academic and vocational programs ranging from Certificate to Diploma to Degree and to Post-graduate awards. New awards will be delivered this year, thereby providing further opportunities for potential students of TNU to pursue higher level studies here in Tonga.
The School of Tongan Language and Culture will offer a degree program in the Tongan Language and Culture. As the only national university in Tonga, it is our responsibility to preserve and maintain our Tongan traditions and culture.
TNU is your national university, a place to study while staying close to your family and social networks and support, whilst contributing to your community and sustaining our local economy and workforce.

Orientation Weeks
23 Feb / 20 July — Orientation begins for Semester 1 and Semester 2. New and returning students should prepare early.
Orientation Teaching Starts
2 Mar / 27 July — Teaching begins across TNU academic and vocational programmes.
Mid-Semester Break
20 Apr–1 May — Semester 1 mid-semester break. Semester 2 break runs from 14 to 25 September.
Swot Vac & Exam Weeks
15–26 June — Students should prepare early for study week and examination dates.
TNU Graduation
4 Dec — Students should check programme completion, fees, and graduation requirements early.
Scholarship and Financial Aid
